R gets married!
My friend,R, got married in October, and as usual, we got aso-ebi [i.e. the fabric] which I got to customize. Generally, I tend to go for very simple silhouettes with my aso-ebi just so I can wear it over & over again; and in different settings. And I finally learned to tie the gele [head tie]. My mom sat down and showed me a few times that morning, and by the time I was heading out to the wedding, I was able to tie it myself. Here’s what I made out of the green and gold lace fabric she gave to me:

It’s a knee length fitted dress with flutter sleeves….and I added this side cut-out detail which I covered in tiny gold beads [in typical House 38 fashion :p]

**Picture quality sucks, I know. They’re blackberry pictures**
I wish I got some pictures of how other people customized their own aso-ebi. Maybe next time.
